These are in my Etsy shop for sale. I had fun making them and hope you enjoy them.
I've had a button collection for a long time and finally I found something that I wanted to try using them. Using some wire wrapping techniques, I wrapped each button with wire making a bail to attach them to the leather necklace that I got at Hobby Lobby. I punched small holes in the leather to attach the wire and buttons. These are in my Etsy shop for sale. I had fun making them and hope you enjoy them.

I have made some of my resin bottles into key rings by request and I don't know why I didn't think of it. Always listen to what the customer wants!
I have these for sale now in my ETSY shop. I'm always listening for new ideas so if you have any just let me know. This PDF template (below) is printed black and white and I used colored pencils to color it in. Color and cut along the inside of the gray lines and the finished envelope will be 5.5" x 4.5". No extra postage required. Make a card for the inside and you have a great unique envelope for a friend's special day. I used regular 8.5" x 11" printer paper, it was a weigh of 24 pounds paper and makes the folds easily. Use a bit of glue stick to seal the edges and the top flap and you're set to go. Think outside the box, every envelope doesn't have to look the same. I checked with the post office and they said it fine to mail it like this. Just be sure to clearly write the name, address and zip code and I put a return address on the back flap. This is NOT for sale and is for personal use only and not for resale.
Word Weaving...I very patiently cut a book page and started weaving them together. I'm not sure what I'm going to use this for but I LOVE the look of the words weaved together. I did experiment by cutting a circle and covering it in resin and adding it to a circle of leather and made a necklace. The necklace also has a word long bead wrapped around a small straw, glued and clear embossing powder added to it to give it a bit of glossy look. I then added copper colored wire through and around it to make loops to attach it. I'm trying to think of more ways to use them and will post more as I create them. Thanks for looking!
I saw this awhile ago and thought I'd try it out. I used 2 different types of tape. The first one is regular package tape and the second was wider box tape. Both worked good, sometimes the tape came off with just the words and sometimes it ripped off with the paper. I like the effect of being able to see through the tape a little. So the ones that came off with more paper I ran under the faucet with warm water and then rubbed it until I could see through it a bit more. I used a dictionary page for this project, not sure how a thicker book page would work. Very easy to do and I'm anxious to try it them out in a paper project soon. I will update with some pictures when I use them.
This is a Cicada wing dyed and sealed in resin. My cat found a dead cicada in the yard and I took it from her and as I was looking at this ugly bug I realized it had very beautiful detailed wings. So I thought why not seal it into some resin. The first one I did you really couldn't see the wing very well so I pulled out my Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks and experimented with them before I put them into the resin. I think they are beautiful...I would never kill the bug just to get his wings but since he was dead anyway I didn't feel so bad about it. I had wanted to try these tiny 1.3" tall miniature baskets for a long time and finally found a good tutorial. I changed mine a little. I wore one of these to the store the other day and had several people comment on it, you can put nothing in it or as I did a tiny bit of evergreen off our tree. I have these for sale on Etsy if you don't want to make your own.
My Etsy store Here's the tutorial on Ornamentea.com These rings are very popular right now and I wanted to try my hand at it. Here are some of my Wire Wrapped Rings, it took a bit of practice to get them looking better. A lot of trial and error but finally I've got a hang of it. I'm really enjoying looking for different beads and stones to make a ring out of. Some of these are for sale in my Etsy Shop. AnaWhoTwo
I have always want to try working with Resin and so this August I jumped in! I got these molds for bottles and love them so much. Resin wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it was. A lot of trial and error but in the end it was fun and a great new craft with a ton of possibilities! Now I'm thinking...what else can I put in Resin...ha! This weekend is the National Conference and I am both excited and nervous. If you don't know about this group it is for families that have lost a child. There are chapters all around the country, if you know someone that has lost a child please let them know about the group. The picture above is our chapter and if you click on the photo it will take you to their website. Even if they just go to the website there is a tons of helpful articles. ♥♥♥ |
I live in the Midwest and have a obsession for re-purposing items in crafts. There will be a large variety of things posted on here, if I like them I usually list them on Etsy to see if they raise any interest in someone's creative eye. Many of the items I make for my friends because they just don't have the time or craftiness...is that a word?... it should be! So I will post my creations and probably post some of my flops, because let's be honest, we crafters have many of those too. Drop me a line if you feel the need to say howdy! Archives
