These were purchased as a resin fairy with these funky metal wings. I bought them and ripped off her wings and added these real laminated butterfly wings. They are securely attached and I added a vintage "gem" on the back. .They are about 5" tall and the wings are between 2" and 3". They are butterflies that I FOUND, I did not kill them to make these fairies. I have bought some butterflies on line and they say they are humanly harvested, I hope they are being truthfully because I would not want to be a part of the killing of these beautiful creatures. I once found a butterfly hurt in a parking lot of the grocery store and took it home, placing it on a plant that I lightly sprayed with some water so let it die in peace. Yea...I'm one of those people!

These key fobs were very fun to make. I made some with ribbon and some folded fabric and some with colorful vinyl. I love the ones that have part of a measuring tape on them.

Fighting the darn bubbles has been a learning curve but I do enjoy working with it. These look great sitting in the window or against a light background. Some of these takes several layers and multi pours, using a mixture of alcohol inks, glitter.  These are pretty small, the largest is about 3" square and smallest is 1" wide by 2".

I've always wanted to try EPP English Paper Piecing and I've been making a small piece with 1/2" hexies but I wanted to try a 1/4" hexie. It wasn't as hard as I thought but I sure wouldn't want to make anything very big out of them.  I used the glue baste method instead of thread basting. I love to hand sew so making the hexies and then sewing them together while I watch television.

This is at our small lake house in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. We love it there and spend a lot of time there (probably too much) from April to October. They shut the water off in the winter but we still do come up for a day or two in the winter.  It's small and that means not a lot of housework to do which is a big thumbs up from me. We try to keep life as simple as possible up there. I haul a few of my latest craft projects up there to work on. My hubby is retired now so that we love being up there all summer. I come back and forth with the dogs to mow the lawn, check the mail and reload my craft stash!   It really has been a dream come true and teaching us the important lesson of keeping it simple

They are rather large and so I'm not sure if people would want them as a pendant necklace or a key fob. They measure about 2.5" to almost 3" and about .25" thick.

I used less ink and limited the amount of white ink because it tends to get white spots on the "canvas" . I only filled the mold halfway and added the ink and after waiting several minute from the ink to settle in the resin, then I poured more resin on top to fill the mold up and then it pushes the ink down into a cloud. I tend to like this look better. I will add some of these to my Etsy shop as pendants and or key ring fobs.

I love the look of this hardware bracelet, when I was looking around I wandered into my husband's shop (when he was away of course...lol) and started going through his drawers of hardware and I thought why not make one with nuts and screws.  I know it looks kind of masculine but I'm hoping someone out there can appreciate it. I made this in two sizes, this one pictured is about 1" tall and the other is bigger and chunky and about 1.5" tall, same inner dimension.

These ferns were found in Wisconsin and are very delicate and sweet. I dried them for months in a book and found this awesome big, chunky bracelet mold that fits these ferns perfectly. I have some smaller ones in my shop also, they are the same width but not as tall.

I bought some molds and resin and started finding all kinds of stuff to put inside them. There was definitely a learning period and I'm still learning on how to get the perfect clear bracelet but it's been fun. I am putting some of these on my Etsy shop so you can check them out there or send me a message if you a special order. I especially like the steampunk ones and going to try some more of those, I have sold those more than any others. I love the natural items like the leaves and I'm working on one with butterflies in it.

]]><![CDATA[Celebrating Ben's Birthday - May 29th]]>Mon, 01 Jun 2015 14:18:33 GMThttps://www.anawho.com/anawhoblog/celebrating-bens-birthday-may-29thMy son drowned in Lake Michigan on June 2013, I celebrated his birthday with him 17 days before he died. He was living in Kenosha WI and that is where he died. I went alone to Kenosha on the 29th and had lunch at the place we last had lunch and then walked to the pier where he died. Hanging out there just remembering the many good times we had together, some ladies walked up and I took a picture of them with the beautiful water behind them, all of a sudden I blurted out the reason I was there. Then I felt badly because they were shaken by my story, they were very sweet and the one woman points toward the man walking toward us which was her husband and told me it was his birthday also. We all hugged and I wished him a happy birthday, it all felt very good and healing ♥

They have now put up a sign on the pier that warns people of the strong currents and no swimming, I hope it can save someone else from a tragic end.

I wanted to drop something into the water that day and decided to drop a clear resin with a feather encased in it. I dropped it in the water, wishing Ben was there but feeling he was near. I watched as it slowly sunk in the water.
