This is a Cicada wing dyed and sealed in resin. My cat found a dead cicada in the yard and I took it from her and as I was looking at this ugly bug I realized it had very beautiful detailed wings. So I thought why not seal it into some resin. The first one I did you really couldn't see the wing very well so I pulled out my Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks and experimented with them before I put them into the resin. I think they are beautiful...I would never kill the bug just to get his wings but since he was dead anyway I didn't feel so bad about it.
